I’m very happy to let you know that a year after its premiere THE RETURN continues to screen far and wide. Have a new set of screenings to let you know about; hopefully it will be coming your way soon!
The film has been fortunate to have a number of showings in Poland, where it was really well received. I will be returning to Europe in early November for screenings in Prague, Warsaw, Krakow, Oswiecim, and an all day event in Bialystok, Poland. Bilaystok is being hosted and run by The Nordic Anthropological Film Association–NAFA previously presented THE RETURN as their opening night film in the new POLIN Museum in Warsaw. I really look forward to these upcoming European showings … one of the film’s subjects will be joining me for her first time, in Warsaw and Krakow, and that should be great.
Back in the States, the film will run the full spectrum of venues: synagogue screenings in New Jersey, Connecticut and Chicago; colleges in Milwaukee (University of Wisconsin) and New York (Baruch College); Jewish Film Festival in Birmingham, Alabama; JCCs and Y’s in Westchester and Queens; and the Yiddish Book Center in Northampton MA. I expect to be accompanying the film to all these events. And at the end of 2015 the film will have its Israeli premiere at the Jerusalem Jewish Film Festival… very exciting!
