The retired American helicopter pilot Mark Buller has settled down in a small town in Poland on a plot of land where there is space enough for his vast collection of ditto retired U.S. Army vehicles. The only missing piece in his life is a wife. At the other end of town, Jan Konstantynow, the community’s 82-year-old magician, has no plans to retire in the near-future. But he is forced to fight for his place in the spotlight when the local cultural centre appoints a new director who has a modern and innovative vision for the community.
